Finally got around to using it for basting a roast chicken and the silicone head glides so smoothly over the skin without picking up any burnt bits. Cleanup is just a quick rinse under hot water, which I appreciate more than I expected.

The silicone bristles don’t shed or soak up grease the way natural ones do, so cleaning up after basting is just a quick rinse. I’ve used it for melted butter on rolls and a sticky glaze over ham, and both spread evenly without dragging the food around.

Finally a pastry brush that doesn't shed bristles into my glaze—the silicone is so easy to rinse clean that I actually use it for melted butter on veggies now. It's sturdy enough to spread thick sauces without bending, and it's held up perfectly through a week of daily baking.
